Catholicism is witchcraft. Is an opinion I hear a lot. While I understand what's truly being communicated here I have to disagree. The appreciable "magic" in catholic ritual isn't witchcraft by any meaningful or traditional definition. Catholic practice doesn't offer you magic, it does offer you mysticism and miracles. That may seem annoyingly hair-splitting, but it's an important distinction! Catholicism doesn't offer you magic, but it CAN be incorporated into your magic. The spiritual structure, overwhelming number of prayers, multitude of patron saints, and the ever-listening ear of Our Lady, can be supportive to a witch or magician. I color myself a folk magician.
